An article published in the British Medical Journal in 1995 followed 1,400 Japanese men who increased there consumption of green tea.   This was associated with a decrease in LDL (bad cholesterol), total cholesterol, triglycerides, and an increase in HDL (good cholesterol).  The take-home point: a healthy life style starts with simple decisions; consider substituting soft drinks and coffee with a cup of green tea.  Not only is it healthier but it is also easier on the wallet.

Because our food today is so highly processed, most of it lacks nutritional value.  Even when we try to eat healthy we must consider where our food comes from.  Studies have shown that nutritional content begins to deteriorate after fruits and vegetables have been picked.  Over 50% of the vitamins and nutrients may be lost by the time the produce reaches our plates.  Consider this when buying produce from other countries or even from other continents, since the shipping time could be very long.  Because of this I recommend buying produce locally and to ensure optimal nutrition multivitamins, omega 3 oils, and probiotics should be a part of our daily diet.

Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling five balls in the air. You name them-work, family, health, friends, and spirit--and you're keeping all of these in the air. You will soon understand that work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back. But the other four balls - family, health, friends, and spirit are made of glass. If you drop one of these, they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged, or even shattered, They will never be the same. You must understand that and strive for balance in your life.
